Students in the Interdisciplinary Studies Department are encouraged to become global citizens through UNC Asheville’s Study Abroad Program.
Students can study on exchange through our membership in the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). This offers access to over 200 universities in over 40 countries as possibilities for students to study abroad. Recent Study Abroad programs via Interdisciplinary, International Studies include Japan and Taiwan.

**Interdisciplinary Studies majors with a Concentration in International Studies are required to engage with one of the following international experience options: 6 CHR earned in a UNCA-approved Study Abroad experience or 6 CHR earned in INTS 365 – International Experiential Learning Project. INTS 365 exists for those students who are unable to participate in Study Abroad, and serves as an experiential learning project or internship with an international focus. The project or internship requires advance approval of the International Studies director. An IP grade may be awarded at the discretion of the instructor.
